UXAFORES members will participate in two of the projects approved by the Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO) in the call for the promotion of the forestry bioeconomy 2023. The projects will be conducted in 2024-2025 within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR) funded by the European Union-NextGenerationEU.

PEMADE will run two training courses about wood structures, in June and July, in the PEMADE facilities in the Higher Polytechnic School of Lugo, in collaboration with the Galician Forest Industry Agency -XERA.

Presentation of a new technical guide “Innovative solutions involving structural timber in current Galician architecture” and opening of the “Impulso verde (Green impulse)” building in Lugo.

An agreement has been signed to extend the Continuous Forestry Inventory in Galicia, and another agreement has been reached in relation to studying chestnut timber.

Grants and projects started this year and others developed with the participation of UXAFORES members.

The LIFE EcoTimberCell project launches the spin-off TimberSoul, by Cándido Hermida. The new company will promote local certified wood by commercialising EcoTimberCell (ETC) products.
