Publication of two new books by Springer

The editorial Springer Cham has published two new books on current cutting edge research topics, in the first trimester of 2024, both with Professor Avelino Núñez as the coordinator.

The book “Frontiers studies in soil science” focuses on new research proposals in soil science and presents the most novel theories in this area as a part of a series of books with the same title. The new issue includes thirteen chapters on several different current topics: emerging pollutants as antibiotics, rare earth elements, organic carbon management, agricultural soil management, remediation and biochar.

The book “Planet Earth: Scientific proposals to solve urgent issues” characterizes and proposes solutions to crucial issues affecting the planet Earth. The book aims to promote scientific debate regarding environmental and social issues affecting the Earth. It includes fifteen chapters on different topics: pandemics, planetary boundaries, sustainability, artistic interventions, nanomaterials in biomedical applications, phosphorus recovery, wastes, microbes in plants and the impacts of antibiotics and of food overproduction on soil.

In addition to Avelino Núñez, several UXAFORES researchers working on soils have participated in these books as chapters author: Esperanza Álvarez, Ana I. Barreiro, Raquel Cela, María J. Fernández and Ainoa Míguez.
